Release Date: 2012-01-03 13:05:00

In an effort to achieve Financial Liberation, to increase the capacity for stewardship, and to build transgenerational wealth, we enter into covenant one with the other. We engage therefore to refrain from purchasing the items in the following categories:

  1. Clothing – suits, dresses, shoes, hats, shorts coats, coats, shirts, blouses, skirts, ties, and sweaters
  2. Electronics – computers, televisions, DVD players, surround sound systems, and other gadgets
  3. Motor Vehicles – including SUV’s, sedans, sports cars, trucks, motorcycles, and boats
  4. Accessories – pens, briefcases, bags, jewelry, and sports equipment
  5. Decorative furnishings and art

We further engage to apply ten percent of each paycheck and all additional income, into a savings account. All monies saved from spending reductions are to be applied to debt liquidation. It is assumed that we honor God with the firstfruit of our increase being the tithe/tenth.

Monthly evaluations will be conducted and reported by covenant monitors to be determined by each party.

As we achieve financial liberation, we also will seek and pursue investment and other capital formation opportunities.

Should anyone purchase any of the above items, he/she will forward to each covenanter one hundred dollars within seven days of said purchase.

While gifts may be purchased for others, said purchases should take the intent and spirit of this covenant into consideration.

This we do as a witness to others for the glory of God.

I CAN, I WILL, I MUST...

Last week was my first week participating in the spending covenant. I was so blessed because of it! One of my biggest challenges has always been spending unnecessary money on fast food and eating out. I looked at my "dining out" spending on the budget feature of my account and I averaged about $100 per month! The only spending I participated in this week was giving to others in need! This week I was blessed with a $50 gas card from my job, lunch paid for by my clinical director and a visa gift card from a family member! God is awesome! Going into this year I knew everything would increase but my income (believing for an increase); however, somethings had to change my spending and my faith had to INCREASE! Thank God for what he has already done!
